Depends on the fixings holding screen to base.
Can you see screws easily accessible, with 'standard' screws
May be worth asking someone from local paper to give an estimate of the time it would take to take current screen off and put new one on - if s/he says half an hour then see what s/he would charge - if it's exorbitant, then DIY might be option you choose, but if you know you can get the part then make it plain you can get the part, and ask what warranty can be given...
Just seems an idea if you've not done it to see about paying someone with the know-how who can guarantee the work for say 90 days, so if you have any problem, can call him/her back for support for no extra cost
Of course, someone might pop in with "it's easy" but from own experience looking to swap keyboard in a laptop it was not as straightforward as I imagined (17 screws and tight spaces). As I've not swapped a screen cannot speak from experience, hence suggestion to see about possible DIY vs someone who doesn't charge a fortune.
Alternatively, might be worth hunting for 'laptop repairs forum' to see if you can find advice outside MN.
