File zipping programme disappeared - WHY??!!!!

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it...
Not sure what program I used to use to zip files, but it's gone. Friday it was there, now it's not and so I'm having to use Winzip trial version which is just annoying.

I've tried system restore to Friday but it doesn't make any difference.

So, either a) how do I get it back? or b) can anyone recommend a free/cheap zipping programme that is good and user-friendly, etc.

I use WinRAR. Can't remember where I got it but it was free. I only use it to unzip and have had no problems with it. I've never need to zip anything so no idea how user friendly that part is (looks easy enough though)

Thanks KnickKnack - but problem is now resolved - DH, despite swearing blind that he'd done NOTHING to the computer, had actually downloaded a different extraction programme, which over-rode the standard windows extraction wizard. Deleted the new prog and voila, problem solved!!
