Laptop accessories, whats worth getting?

The new laptop is here and we have never had one before so just wondered if the were any accessories to definitely get and what to avoid?

I LOVE my little mouse - it has a usb stick thingy that just plugs into the back and then it acts like any other cordless mouse. So much easier than the touchpad (unless you really are using it on your lap of course!).
