How do I upload a CD to my computer?

Dumb schmuck emoticon needed here, I think! It must be easy and obvious probably, but I don't know how to do it! I've got Windows Media Player, if that means anything to you!

Normally, just pop the CD in and a box will appear, asking you what programme you wish to use to play/import the tracks from the CD. Select windows media player and go from there.

Alternatively, if you have an ipod or are thinking of getting one, or if you want to download MP3 tracks online, I'd recommend downloading Apple's iTunes. All my music is stored there and it's so easy to use!

Oh thanks. I downloaded some music from Amazon last night and it has gone onto my Windows media player, which is fine. I do have an MP3 (which is why I'm doing this!) and I managed to put them on it.

I assume, I need to put the CD's onto the computer and then onto the MP3. Jeez, I thick when it comes to these things!

Ripping is indeed what you need to do. Then you can do the same as what you did yesterday to put the tracks onto your player.

Out of interest, did you use Windows Media Player to 'sync' your music onto your player?

DH has just put a load of CDs on to our computer, and he used iTunes - he reckons it's much more user friendly than Media Player.

Phew! That was a long afternoon! I did you Media Player to sync. It was automatic. I plugged my MP3 in and it just did it all, without touching a thing! Can't get much more user friendly than that I suppose!

I got a fair few of the songs I wanted. I will note down those that I suddenly remember and download some more another day. I feel very modern all of a sudden!

I'm getting flash now! I've put some of my favourite songs on my phone as well!
