I could do with some help please!

We need a new computer and I'm not sure what to get. We have been looking at this one but I have also come across a site where you can build your own, I have built one which I think is similar spec but with wireless keyboard & mouse and speakers, it comes in around the same price or slightly more with a better graphics card & more memory. It won't let me link to my results but this is the site

Is the bulid your own a better option or would it be safer to go with a HP? Or is something else altogether better value?

Any advice much appreciated! TIA

We have always purchased from Dell in the past bacause they're usually quite good value and provide good support. I haven't looked recently though so cannot comment on their current range.

We've just bought a basic Dell and it's great.

Thank you, am looking at the Dell site now. Dh doesn't seem keen on Dell for some reason, not that he knows one end of a computer from the other!

The HP looks good & personally I'd prefer to buy from a well known name if I'm paying up front.

You are right RustyBear, I was just saying to DH that if something went wrong with the PC it would be much easier if it were a standard HP/other brand rather than a custom built one.
