why won`t my webcam disc load?

Been given a brand new microsoft webcam so my best friend and I can see each other whist she is away in India for a year. It says to download the disc first, but when I put it in the slot nothing happens! Help! I am useless at these things!

You may have AutoRun disabled for CDs - look for My computer and you should see the CD listed. Double click on it & look for an icon called setup.exe. Double click on that & it should start to install.
If more than one person uses your computer, you may need to be logged on a an administrator in order to install programs.- usually the first account that was set up.
