Oh Gawd, iIdon't hold out much hope for many answers to this (Judging by the average number of responses for other geeky questions)but anyway

We have had huuuuge problems connecting to Tiscali through our Netgear router. I think the problem has been fixed, for our computer at least.

But my dd's laptop is now denied access to tiscali and she can't connect to the internet.

Can anybody hellllllllllpppppppp???????

I had a few problems with Tiscali, but their helpline was actually quite good, have you called them?

If the laptop is connecting to the router via wireless then it will be the router blocking it. I'm not the best person to help with this since I don't use wireless myself though I know roughly how it goes.

First try plugging the laptop into the router using a cable. If that works ok then we know why.

There is a security page in the router which has a number (a key) on it. It may also be on the bottom of the router. That has to go into the wireless settings on the laptop you see.

You get into the router settings by going (on the PC that is working) to 192.168.1.254/

That link doesn't take you to the net but to a settings page in the router.

seriously, sometimes my laptop just cuts out wifi access even thought dh's puter is fine, and we have to turn the homehub off and on again.
