On hotmail I'm pretty certain there is no way once you have emptied the delete bin.

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 05/02/2009 19:12

think it depends on what kind of email. I can't on my hotmail, but on my work e-mails (which are internet based and I can check at home) I go into options, and it gives me a choice to recover deleted items.

Nighbynight · 05/02/2009 19:48

yes, teh emails should have been stored as temporary files on your computer when you downloaded them, surely?

I have done this on older operating systems, havent done it for a bit.

moonstonefairy · 05/02/2009 19:55

were is the privacy in that then, if they can be read after deleted and delete bin emptied (all whilst still on hotmail).

i am confused now.

there was NO privacy on older windows systems lol.
there wont be now, when Ive figured out how to get them

moonstonefairy · 05/02/2009 20:33

im stil confused. are you saying you can retreive my mails now.

Nighbynight · 05/02/2009 20:44

no Im not a hacker! on our family computer I meant.

onagar · 05/02/2009 20:46

The thing is hotmail is on the Microsoft servers so there is no way to get them back. There is a small chance that anything that has been viewed exists in Temporary Internet Files on your computer, but it would be extremely difficult to retrieve them if not impossible.

moonstonefairy · 05/02/2009 21:10

night, sorry didnt mean you were a hacker.
I was totally confused by some of the replies, conflicting advice.

Thanks for the replies, it seems I am ok.
