Can anyone advise on what laptop to get please. I really want to get one this week if possible. I have heard HP are very good - are they?

Sony Vaio has always been good to me. If you have a Sony camera, the memory card slot is also very handy.

would very much like to help, but without a budget limit, it is a bit hard! there are some good offers ie from 1000 to 799 or there are some good laptops for 350 about. all depends on your budget.

Was thinking around the £500 mark

If you are not going to be using it for massive graphics programs, this is a good one

cheapish
or this

like this

This is what I have just advised my brother buy. Fantastic.

or this, which has a 17" screen and a bigger hard drive.
maybe if you want a bigger screen?

tbh, if you were to go into any currys/pc world, say you have £500 to spend, they will be able to give you some good deals. As I said, I like the second one, and am so tempted to go and get it because atm I have a 17" one, which, after 2 years i'm just finding too big

should say, John Lewis I really like for electrical goods because of the extended warrenty they with them free of charge, as some laptops only come with 12 months.

(although of course, their prices are slightly higher....but then it depends on what you think is worth it or not)
