I scan it eceryday but it seems to come up with the same problems, not viruses but warning, tracking cookies ect, when the scan has finished it does not give me the option to remove them, so I assumed they were removed automatically, but obviously not as each time the results are identical, any ideas?

When I delete my browsing history i choose to delete cookies as well. This seems to get rid of them.

On AVG it gives you an option to 'remove unhealed items' at the end of the scan. This will move them to virus vault.
if you click on 'computer scanner' again you willl see a button at bottom 'view virus vault' from that screen you can choose to 'empty virus vault'

HTH
