I have received a Spam email supposedly from my mother

now I know its not from my mother and I have received spam emails from "myself" before, but what is going on? is it similiar to receiving spam from "me" or is it a virus?

Probably means that a virus has infected her computer, and is using her email account to send messages - you need to tell her, I think.

yeah, have told her already, but 200miles away and she's not too hot pc knowledge wise so need to be able to know what to tell her to do

Ah, sorry, now you reach the end of my knowledge - I don't know either. I'd guess if she has some viruschecking software, she'd need to run it (I know, stating the bleedin' obvious), but no idea otherwise.

yeah, thats what I'm going to do, but will have to go through the process myself so I can write down a step by step thing for her
