macbook - got 8000 photos on macbook and they need to go somewhere

Please could a clever person with patience which i lack tell me how to put my pics on some sort of external memory???

what do i need to buy?

my macbppk was never speedy but now its a snail!

do i buy an eternal memory (is there such a thing?) and which one?

You could stick them all on a cd or dvd, quick, easy and cheap.

You can buy external hard disks with huge memory capacity - I use one to back up my pc. you'd need to make sure that it's compatible for a mac though.

The best way would be to upload them to an online memory bank thing. We get a free one with our bt broadband package.

DH uses a Laci external pocket drive, and reckons it'll do the job you need. He also says it is USB powered and costs around £55.
