Get everything from my Windows Media Player Library, (99% of which is just my own CDs that I have ripped, but a lot of them!!!) onto or into my itunes....or do I have to just do it all manually

I.e. Do I have to delete all from Windows media player and then rip them all again onto itunes. Surely the fact it's all stored on my laptop means I should be able to just transfer it???

Thanks.

(So far I have two songs on my ipod, until I get this sorted!!

no, nothing so extreme - but you do need to convert them if they are WMA files

iTunes usually offers to do this for you - what happens when you try to import your music library?

WMA files? what's that...sorry, bit of a novice.

How do I try to import my music library? Whata do I select!!!

wow it's been a long time since I first switched from mp3 to ipod, let me have a look at itunes for a minute

mysterymoniker · 06/01/2009 20:38

oh yes

ok, under FILE (at top, above where the play/backward/forward buttons are) you need to select 'add file to library' and then make your way to where your music is, if you hit ctrl and a you can select the whole lot at once or just try them one at a time, whatever you like

at that point it should offer to convert them for you, if I recall correctly

luckymummy74 · 07/01/2009 10:18

OK, I'm trying that, and I can see exactly what you mean, but when I find 'my music', it's in my desktop only so it won't let me click on it as an option?

I'm gonna see if I can move it into a different place.
