I dropped my Laptop

Now it wont open. I did get a new one for Christmas but I need to get all my stuff off the old one. It says there is a disc error to press Ctr alt delete but still doesnt switch on. Do you think if I loaded on my startup discs it would work.

Did you get a Windows recovery disk with it?

sounds like the hard drive has dislodged on impact

so I am afraid it might be more of screwdriver job than a cd job

Sorry I have not been on today, I have a recovery disk so I will try that but if it is a screwdriver job is that complicated or do I need professional help.
