dumb ipod question

ok I have transferred music from cd's to itunes then onto ipod ..sorry if silly question but do you have to name all the tracks yourself or does it automatically transfer the artists and titles names? very new to all this and can't ask anyone in rl as they will think what a divvy,

it'll transfer them automatically from the cd

oh mine did't just says track 123 etc no names must be doing something wrong but god knows what?

Is it a normal (popular?) music CD?

You can enter the track names yourself in iTunes, but it's a lot of work for not much benefit.

Is the computer you're doing this on, connected to the internet?

oh that might be it , it was not online when i did it maybe i will start again and connect to internet before doing it, thanks so much

You don't need to start again, there's an option in the Advanced menu, for "get CD track names" on my iTunes.
