Help - all of DS's various thingy-game-box-consoles seem to have broken...

I keep reminding him to take more care of his stuff.

We now have a non-working DVD, Wii, Playstation 2. His Nintendo DS works but the hinges are f*cked so that's more mechanical.

With the others though, I suspect the problem is the same with all 3: grubby scratched disks which have not been put away properly then bashed into the slots and ruined whatever magic the little elves inside do to them to read them.

The Wii is saying summat like Error: please consult manual. We did and followed the usual switch off clean switch on instructions to no avail.

It says contact the manufacturer.

We have run a cleaning DVD in all I think. Any other ideas?

I know our x box 360 had a harddrive failiure thats nobodies fault so could the wii have a similar fault?

I have 3 sons and over the years various things do get broken even if taen very good cre of so heres what id do

wii- fone the maufacturers

ps2 fone the manufacturers

ds- fone the manufacturers

all goods are covered by the 1975 act that means goods should be able to be of use for the purpose they are sold for 6 years,ive had sony replace a ps2 twice now.

the discs id take to game station they clean them in a machine for £2.50 per disc.

When my sons were being careless with their discs i took them out of their room and cleaned them and then allowed 1 disc out at a time- it worked and they saw the pleasure in having clean discs that were all in the right boxes and now look after them better.

Dont just let this go these consoles are too expensive.
