Virus detected but not dealt with by AntiVir - now I can't download any other anti-virals....heelllllpppp...

Apparently it's Dropper malward 'DR/704512.A' - this means less than nothing to me, but I can't access hotmail, or any secure sites, without receiving security certificate warnings, which I'm leery of over-riding.

I tried downloading additional anti-viral packages to remedy the situation, but that's being disallowed too - everything, including my current AntiVir, declares it has an expired license.

Any tips?

Do I bin my laptop? Or is this definitely going to mean a trip to 'pooter type person?

I'm kind of resigned to these options, but any tips will be gladly received

Just tried downloading superantispyware, and although the download got partway it insisted I had another installation running - however I have had this glitch before and suspect it's something to do with longlasting remnants of Norton from last year.

This is SOOOO annoying!

You'll have to go into your control panel and hunt it down. I'm not 100% sure if I can remember how to do this though.

I had a three month fre trial with windows one care, it was very good.

It's in the admin tools. Look in there, it will be in the programmes on your computer part.

Look in system configuration, you should be able to find it in there.
