How to retrieve/copy text from a pdf or enter text on to a pdf form.......

Can any of you clever types help me please? I'm using a pc.

If the pdf has not be set up to be a typeable form, you can't do anything to it unless you have Adobe Acrobat Professional. And then you will only be able to do some basic edits, depending on how the document was set up.

If it has typeable fields, you can just type in the white boxes. Otherwise you'll have to print it out and hand write whatever it is.

Or take a screenshot, paste into paint (or something like that) and edit it in there
