Best email solution for my nan?

My nan wants to be able to email her nieces in the USA. We brought her an amstrad emailer a while ago, but is was never brilliant and has now given up the ghost. What would be simple to use and cost effective? Ideas please

Hmm are they easy to use? She just about coped with the emailer,she is yet to master the video .. Also seems expensive

I had one for work and found it easy to use but then I'm used to a mobile and if your nan isnt then she may find it difficult IYSWIM.

If you go into Carphone Warehouse or somewhere with her, they will let her try one out in store to see how she gets on with it.

There are quite a few pda's out there but failing that, you may have to go for a laptop?
