Audible.com - anyone used it, thinking of possible Xmas presents ....

....anyone used Audible.com. If I'm reading things correctly I can get a gift cert for DP for Xmas which he can use to download a book onto his iPod.

Have I got this right?

Think the site is American so lots of the books may have a USA bias?

Any thoughts?

I use it a lot. It's dead easy to use and a lot of the books are on both UK and US sites. Unlike something like iTunes, there is nothing stopping you accessing the US site which has a larger catalogue. Go for it, it's a great idea.

Dh uses it - he downloaded me a book onto cds last year for Christmas which I really appreciated, and has downloaded more since. I think it is quite good value

Does it work OK with an iPod - I know that you can only download music from the iTunes store, will it be OK with books from audible?

Thanks for all the comments - I'm so chuffed to find a good present for DP.

ds1 got a subscription last year (to the uk site) and loves it - he has the one book a month option and he got a free shuffle as well. It is really easy to use.
