how to convert Adobe Illustrator CS files to version 8 Illustrator files?

i have a client who needs to open the file in Illustrator version 8 but I've used CS to create the files.

i havent done this for ages and I feel so silly i've forgotten how to do this.

any ideas? thanks.

File, Export.
Try saving in a different format - AI or EPS for example.
There may be some limitations imposed, for example text may become outlines. Adobe Knowledge Base: Text is converted when you export artwork to legacy format (Illustrator CS2-CS3)

Depending on what the client needs to do at their end, you could also try exporting as PDF.
