Cant access any of my usual sites where I have to log in.....

Last night I deleted some files (that I thought I don't need or use) from the control panel. I thought it might speed up my connection a bit but now I cant access anything that I need to log into ie banking or facebook or ebay. Can anyone help ??

a few questions.

1. what files did you delete and how did you delete them (are they in the recycle bin)
2. what browser are you using

Does it say anything about you having cookies disabled? Have you changed your IE security settings (assuming uoi're using IE)
You're obviously logged into MN so that's the main thing!!

I dont know what files just ones that I thought I did not need/use

I have not changed any security settings.

This is the message I get after I try to log in anywhere:

Do you have IE on the machine, what happens when you use that

Does anyone know how I could possibly speed up my connections?

Line speed is often the key. If you are in a cabled area (Virgin Media) then that is probably going to give you the fastest connection.

Is speed important though? I've recently dropped speed by changing from fixed-line to mobile. Mumsnet is still fine. Reduced speed affects things like BBC Iplayer, which still works occasionally but does pause to rebuffer video quite often.

www.ccleaner.com software can help clear up your machine. BUT it will also delete cookies, used to store passwords. So you need to look at the options before using it. Suggest you get someone IT knowledgeable to configure it for you.
