Urgent question about uploading to ftp: suddenly I'm not getting the option to 'open page in Windows Explorer'

Normally I click on page tools, then on 'open page in windows explorer' to upload a file to ftp. But that option just isn't appearing. Anyone know why?

I can of course open Windows Explorer from my programmes list, but what I don't seem to be able to do is get the ftp page to open in a way that allows me to upload files: the 'paste option is greyed out, and I'm not getting the usual view of folders that I have when I upload successfully.

Anyone geeky enough to make sense of that?

sorry i don't know a lot about this, but to ftp i usually just put the full ftp address in a normal IE explorer bar - it then pops up with login request.
