Video footage by email

how do I send short video clips from my camera by email - they are too big even with the standard re-sizing when attaching to email - how do I make them smaller??

Are they .avi files? If so then virtualdub may help. It will remake .avi files (possibly others too) using different kinds of compression.

There are also places that let you upload files for others to view/download, but you'd still have the problem of uploading huge files
