Can I get a table from a Pdf into excel/calc?

Cos I have a PDF, which I would like to modify.

here it is to be precise.

I want to get it into excel or OO calc so that I can sort on column 2.

If I try cutting and pasting It splits 1 cell into multiple cells.

I can C&P into word/writer but I get loads of carriage returns all of the place.

I know that I can do a crude jiob if I want to - but is there I slicker way I can get that document, formatting preserved into a spreadsheet?

It's doing it to me too - it's something to do with teh way the PDF was formatted. It's probably quicker to retype it - or cut and paste the individual cells.

If it has a ton of carriage returns can you - in Word - convert text to table using the carriage return as the separator?

Only a guess, sorry, got to get the kids, so don't have time to play with it for you.

I've got it pasted into excel and then did a Data Convert Text to Columns.

It's not perfect, but may speed up the process for you by at least getting the text into excel.

any good?

I did find a way to do it but it's very long winded & LL is probably right that it's quicker to do it cell by cell.

If you C&p into Word, one row at a time, cut out unnecessary carriage returns & add them where needed, then c&p that into Excel.
Then copy the vertical column & use Paste Special-transpose to turn the column into a row.
Unfortunately, using Paste special when you first paste it in to Excel doesn't give you the transpose option, or you could cut out a step.

(Of course, by now you've probably done it cell by cell anyway )
