Sorry to be completely thick about this (was born in the early 60s .

Would appreciate any advice.

I have a list of favourite Internet sites as long as your arm. Inevitably, the ones I want to use most often are the most recent additions, and so they appear at the foot of the list. This means I have to trawl for ages down the list to reach them.

I've tried changing the order with the "organise favourites" instruction thing but it doesn't give me the option of alphabetical order or changing the order to last first.

Any suggestions please?

Right click any one of the favorites themselves and you should see 'Sort by name' near the bottom of the menu

You can also drag them about by hovering over a favorite and holding down the left mouse button, but that takes ages to do. A better way is to create some folders using organise favorites and drag into there all of a certain type.

So your favorites then might look like this at the top

Shopping sites
Forums
Travel
etc

If you have at least one yellow folder icon in the favorites menu you can double click it and it opens up your favorites in normal folder windows which can be useful for dragging loads of them into subfolders

Whatever I do I still end up with far too many of.

And I was born in the 50s

That's brilliant Greyriverside - thanks for taking the trouble to explain it - I'm going to try that now .....

The shopping site section will be bulging ....!!!

Grey power !!
