Laptop or tablet recommendations

Morning all. I’m trying to help a family member and wondered if anyone had any thoughts for whether a laptop or tablet is best and any specific recommendations?

Will be used mainly for:
-watching TV by one person and playing music
-video calls
-very occasional use of something like Word

Would prefer not to pay too much money, but equally doesn’t want something that is so cheap that it doesn’t meet needs or will need replacing after a few months.

Person is currently quite unwell (and likely to be unwell for a number of months) so will be using it for watching TV etc. while lying on the sofa.

We have a Lenovo ideapad pro it's a fairly large screen so great for watching things and I have a cheap wirelessly mouse and keyboard for when I need it for other things. If you know anyone who gets blue light discount you can get a very good deal on it we paid £250 it's rrp is £400 , the spec is great for the price

I have a BLC - which retailer did you use to get the discount?

Ive got a Samsung Galaxy A9+ tablet, paid just over £200. Great for general browsing, streaming and video calls. Got a Bluetooth keyboard from amazon which was £15 which is good for the occasional bit of life admin I do.

I think this looks like it might be suitable?

Lenovo Tab Plus 11.5 Inch 128GB Wi-Fi Tablet

I normally spend ages researching new purchases but it’s quite urgent, so I might need to make a decision today. (I just don’t want to make a mistake!)

@TheCurious0range Do you think this is similar to what you have?

That's the plus which has a lower spec
