... has anyone done this and can advise what do I need to know to make this tech combo work?

Background: I want to watch a 30yr old tv series only available on DVD, not streamed anywhere.

I have a macbook air.
I don't have a tv (or a tv license, even).

Do you think if I go talk to Currys they could help me figure out what tech combo to get? Which cable which player etc.?

thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have an external dvd drive that I use for my laptop. It's a simple SONY model and connects to the USB port and can play DVDs and CDs on it.

As it's not live TV or streaming a TV licence isn't required.

You can check the compatibility for your airbook but they are not expensive and easy to plug in and play.

Try asking Chatgpt - it figures everything out for me and especially when I'm confused with my Macbook Air!

@MagnoliaTreeBlossom , which external dvd player are you using that works successfully? Are you using the inbuilt macbook dvd player or a different player?
