Millions of people use torrent programs to download TV that they missed. It is still technically illegal, but really only the same as recording them to watch later.

Googling torrent tv uk* sites would probably get you started

Greyriverside · 16/06/2008 12:37

that was meant to say google torrent tv uk sites

charliecat · 16/06/2008 12:38

catch up tv on itv
bbc i player for bbc
and 4od for channel four
google and download the players and away you go

Umlellala · 16/06/2008 12:56

you only need a licence to watch live - as broadcast- TV. not iplayer/catch up/4od.

we are about to do away with our telly - yay. no more passive slobbing out in front of friends or traffic cops!

Iplayer and the others are fine, but be aware that they come in two flavours.

You can click on something on the site and watch it now just like on youtube.

If you download and install their players there is a difference. They are all essentially filesharing programs and if you download an episode of eastenders you are downloading it in sections from other filesharers using the same program.

This is ok and is the reason it's fast, but be aware that until you delete the episode your PC is constantly uploading it to other people who want it. This naturally slows down your browsing.

They all install a program called Kontiki that does this silently in the background
