can anyone help me figure out what to do to reset it

Baby ds attacked my laptop when i wasn@t looking and has changed keyboard settings so i can only now get the alternative key functions and all the punctuation instead of numbers

alos when i try and highlight something using mouse it highlights whole block not just the bit i want

and i can only type in lower case with caps lock on and hitting shift plus anything doesn@t change the keys back to their original and intended letters or numbers

apologies for terrible punctuation etc it@s not my fault

Have you got a set of icons down in the bottomw right corner? try "hovrering" over those and see what they bring up. (You may need to expand the section by clicking on the < button.

Ds managed to set my computer on to "sticky keys" which wouldn't let me do anything, but I found an icon down there which let me switch it off.

It sounds like your shift key is stuck down

HelloBeastie · 06/06/2008 15:23

This page gives a couple of possibilities for what might have gone happened in the general keyboard-mashing... including the 'sticky keys' issue.

HelloBeastie · 06/06/2008 15:24

gone Sigh. Keyboard-mashing of my own...

RustyBear · 06/06/2008 15:33

Is it a Mac? - found this on a forum (scroll down a bit)

wingandprayer · 06/06/2008 18:22

The sticky key thing fixed it! Thanks so much everyone, have bookmarked your page HelloBeastie in case of future requirement! Of course now I can now longer blame poor typing standards on a faulty keyboard....
