Any IT experts on here help me please. I have two Tapo cameras, one front and one back, my cars been smashed up tonight out the back, camera didnt pick anything up at the time it was being smashed at, the cameras not picked up anything in 10 minutes during it. But front camera is working 100%. Do these thieves or burglars have access to cameras and can deactivate them? Im so cross and upset that my camera has not picked up anything at all but automatically starts to work again as soon as they've left the area??

I'm not very techie

But the first thing that strikes me is a signal jammer. Are the cameras connected to Wi-Fi only?

I'm really sorry this happened.

@ash677x that's probably it then

They smashed up the car? they didn't want to steal it?

steering lock for the car if you're worried about that.

Smashed front and back window. What i can't understand is this happened at 6.54pm last night, my front camera was working absolutely fine during this attack. Its only my back garden camera facing car that seems to have knocked off.

Possible they had used a wi-fi jammer, assuming you have tested if it responds to you doing a 're-enactment" at the some time, and check that it does record.

Might be worth looking at your router, to see if there's anything interesting in the log around this time. (if there is a log)

Longer term, I would look to install hardwired cameras (POE), for a multitude of reasons.
