Voice to Text App

DS has just started his A levels. Ever since he was at nursery, he’s cemented what he’s learnt that day by vocalizing it in detail when he gets home. I thought it might be helpful if he could talk into a device, which could type it all down for him, then he could create his notes from this text.

Can anyone recommend a voice to text app, which allows you to edit your text afterwards?

iPhones have a dictate button on the keyboard.
I use it for notes, emails, WhatsApp etc. I’m sure there is a more sophisticated app but this is easy and free!

I've used Microsoft OneNote for exactly this. There are more sophisticated software packages such as Dragon which are far better at recognising your own voice, but OneNote is at least included in my Microsoft package.

If he has a laptop most word processors have this feature now. Microsoft Word and Google docs both do. My DS uses then as he has phonological dyslexia (writing rather than reading), so will dictate his work then go through and edit/ punctuate as appropriate

Thank you all. I’d forgotten One Note could do this.
