I don't think the PC is wireless - so I guess I either need to make it wireless or plug it into my router

I am guessing the spare wireless laptop cards I have will be useless

Please enlighten me?

There are a few options:

  1. Hardwire it to your router, via Ethernet cable. PC will need an Ethernet port.
  1. USB Wireless Adapter - Guide - Example of one
  1. PCI Card - Example - to fit this, you have to open your computer's inside.

  1. it's in the wrong place

  2. it's not going to happen

So 2) it is

Thanks Nick

So now all I need to do is see if it works (generous donation) & buy I thingie

I would suggest getting the same brand of USB Adapter, as the router.

So if you have a Belkin Router, get a Belkin USB Adapter. If you have a LinkSys router, get a LinkSys USB Adapter. Hope that makes sense.
That way, with luck the things will talk to each other without issues.
