Hi, and sorry if this gets asked repeatedly- I have done a search and can’t find any recent posts, but please point me to them if you know!

I want to set up a website for a local non-profit organisation, which can then be handed over and updated easily by very non-techy people. It will be about ten pages of information, no e-commerce or database required. We have our own domain name which I will need to transfer to the hosting company. The lower cost the better, but ease of use is very important.

Does anyone have any current recommendations? Is something like Wix or Ionos the way to go, or is there a cheaper way that is simple? Wordpress maybe? I’ve only worked on websites in big organisations, I’ve never had to deal with hosting before.

Thanks for any advice.

I use penguin for my domain name and a local guy hosts the website and did the basics to set it up in Wordpress, I update it

I belong to some gardening clubs and a couple of them use Wix.com for their (very basic and simple) websites.

I’ve used Nextcloud for a local club website and it worked really well for file sharing and calendars. If you're thinking of hosting it yourself, just keep in mind the costs. I looked into nextcloud pricing for hosted solutions too, since I didn’t want to manage a server, and it wasn’t bad for what you get—especially if you’re sharing among a group and can split it.
