Duplicate photo clear out

I've got 15000 photos and my iCloud storage keeps getting more expensive.

Can anybody recommend an app or a way of clearing these out? I've seen a duplicate photos app - do they actually work?

Or any tips on how to reduce costs.

@ColourByNumbers88 There are a number of ‘Duplicate File’ locators available – some free – some you pay for – the payable ones are generally better and are supported. Some have a free trial period and most are not too expensive anyway.

My advice is to have a search, try the free ones, try the free trials and pick one you like and are comfortable with.

I use Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder - silly title but it's free and I'm used to it.

Duplicate detection is built in to Apple Photos, in Mac OS and iOS, have a look in utilities > Duplicates

I don't use cloud storage. You can buy an external hard drive and back up your photos every few weeks. No ongoing cost and you own the back up, so if you cancel your cloud account no risk of losing them.
