the weirdest thing has happened to my in box

all was well. i closed it and the box came up suggesting I compressed it to save space. i did. i have done this loads of times before.
went on it later and all my emails have gone and been replaced by ones from 2006!!!!
How??? they were deleted yonks ago

i don't think it was the compressing as I have done that before.
it is like I am being haunted

no the new ones vanished and were replaced by the long ago deleted ones.

I had this in Hotmail a few years ago - I logged in one day and long-deleted emaisl had reappeared from teh ether.... gave me the mother and father of all frights!!

They're out there.... somewhere.. .

Which email program are you using?

Did you change your email program at some point? from Outlook Express to MS Outlook or vice versa?

Or upgrade Outlook Express to a new version

It's just possible that you have two message stores and it's now pointing at the wrong one.
