Broken ps5, repair?

Absolutely gutted that my son's Ps5 has died a death, 9 days before Christmas. Not only because it's 3 weeks past the end of the 12 month warranty(purchased black friday last year) so not eligible for replacement. But also because a good chunk of his Christmas presents this year are ps5 related so that's going to be a bit of a let down for him.

Does anybody have any experience of getting a console fixed. If I send it to playstation, how long will it take? Maybe a local place but do I trust them?

There's no power at all to it, tried a different plug, a different power cable, took apart to clean, it's just completely dead 😢

Where did you buy it from? I don’t think 12 months plus 3 weeks is a reasonable amount of time for it to work. It’s still worth going back to complain.

Also had a quick google and it seems to recommend going to Sony directly.
