Platform to share photos and slideshows

I have so many photos on my phone, dvds, cds and photo albums going back years. I'd love to make some slide shows of pics, with music and put them online on something like YouTube, so other family members not living nearby, can also view them. Is this something you can do on YouTube- or is there a similar platform? TIA

What sort of phone do you have?

You can indeed create a free account(s) on You Tube, but you'll need video editing software to create the slideshow (images plus music, with maybe captions and a bit of voice?).

You Tube does have its own software for video editing but there are limitations: You Tube Create is for phones only, although there's also You Tube Shorts. Windows Media Player still (I think) needs conversion to a compatible file format for You Tube?

I am currently using Cap Cut. The free version allows you to make videos up to 15 minutes long and export them to your You Tube channel.

Thank you! This is really helpful, will look at cap cut. Just worry that all the history in these photos is sitting there unseen, i have some really old pics with people i dont recognise, my Mum is no longer with us, so sadly i can't ask her. Made me realise i want future family to have access if they want to, to be able to see past generations. Thanks for the quick reply too.

You're welcome.

This is a pretty good article btw that's worth a browse if you have the time.

I completely agree with you about making family archives available. They are a precious resource.
