Which is better? Echo dot or echo?

Hi. I have the old style Alexa in my bedroom and rather than buy a new radio want to get an echo for downstairs for radio and audio books primarily. I have an open plan downstairs. Am I better for sound etc to get the echo or is the dot sufficient?

Since they're both half price, go for the echo, bigger, better sound, built in smart home hub.
