Laptop Bluetooth issues

My ( very old but reliable) hp lap top will not connect via Bluetooth to my headphones ( various brands ) or speakers.

The odd thing is my lap top says it's connected, my headphones make the 'connected ' tone so do the speakers.
But the sound still comes from the laptops built-in speaker.
Headphones and speakers contact to my ( Samsung) phone with no problem.
This has been going on for ages and its driving me mad.
Internet isn't a issue I've tried it at work and other people's homes and had the same problem.

HELP 🤔

In the sound settings, accessed by clicking on the speaker icon on the toolbar, can you see a list of available speakers? Is the external speaker shown and shown as the one selected?

Hi @SilenceInside , for some odd on my head phones actually connected ( albeit breaking up a bit ) without me trying to connect them.
This is what was displayed , the headphones are Soundcore so I would of thought it would have the name there. (?)

I had something similar with my HP laptop which wouldn’t connect to our Bluetooth speakers. I kept having to download the Bluetooth drivers from their website which did fix the issue, but I had to do it every time the computer restarted. You could see if they have drivers to sort this issue out for your headphones - you can search for the right drivers for you model and download them here https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers

My laptop’s Bluetooth suddenly stopped working while I was trying to connect wireless headphones for a meeting, I took it to the Authorised Service Center, and they fixed it quickly so I could get back to work without delays.

I don't have to worry about my headphones not connecting because my laptop has packed in all together, apparently the hard drive won't boot .
I feel like booting the whole thing off a 10 story block of flats !

Sounds like it could be a Bluetooth audio output setting issue. You might want to check your sound settings and select your headphones as the default device. For hardware checks, Dell Service Center in Nagpur can also help diagnose Bluetooth-related problems.
