its like a photo screen saver as i unerstand it

You save all your photos onto a SD card/memory stick then insert the card into the frame and it either shows one photo that you pick or scans throuhg them all like a screen saver. That's how mine works but I am sure you can get some that are much more advanced and have more features

haylstones said it right. IMO when you get one, make sure it has a USB connection then buy a cheap USB memory stick, you can then choose which photos to put on, and stick it in. It'll then display each photo for your specified time.

thanks - I would need a simple one. Am thinking that it might be a good present for my Mum. At the moment , if we email any pictures to her, she prints them off and an A4 sheet of paper and balances them all precariously on her dresser

We gave one to my mum at Xmas. She is 82, and finds it too complicated.

oh dear.... sometimes my Mum is 69 going on 82 so that's a bit worrying

They recommend Kodak EasyShare SV811 (£64) as best value and Kodak EasyShare EX1011 (£118) as best overall.

We gave on eto my 80 year old dad a christmas (1st one from Maplins we had to return as it didnt work, got a better one at cheaper price from Ebay came from Hong Kong and was brill)

He loves it and had now 3 memory cards with different sets of photos on them,

1 with old black and whites of him as a child through to joining the RAF, to getting married to Mom, to us all being born, to us growing up.

2 is of us all since youngest brother left home for Uni, (there are 5 of us kids) all our marriages and through to the Grandchildren being born.

3 all the most recent ones, whichis updated regularly when he comes to my house, family email photos to me and I then add them to his memory card.

We split them up into 3 cards (£5.00 each off ebay) as he found it took too long to get through them all on one card, (not sure they would have fitted on them anyway)

He says he can then sit and watch which ever era he feels like.
