If you have AirPod pros can you possibly answer a question for me?

I have cheapo copies and only really use them in bed listening to a podcast to help me sleep. These podcasts last about half an hour.

If I wake in the night though and can’t get back to sleep and try to put another one on to listen to, the earphone battery is dead.

Is this because I have cheap earphones or is that just what it would be like if I bought Apple ones? They may be in my ear/out of the charging case for 5/6 hours, but are only actually playing anything for 30 minutes.

Apple claim up to 6 hours of use, personally I've never had them go flat and use them for 1-2 hours

AirPods Pro

  • Up to 6 hours of listening time with a single charge (up to 5.5 hours with Spatial Audio and head tracking enabled)6
  • Up to 4.5 hours of talk time with a single charge7

AirPods Pro with MagSafe Charging Case (USB‑C)8

  • Up to 30 hours of listening time9
  • Up to 24 hours of talk time10

5 minutes in the case provides around 1 hour of listening time11 or around 1 hour of talk time12

I have pros - longest I’ve used them is during check in and on the plane for a 3.5 hour flight - didn’t go flat until towards the end of the flight if I recall correctly.

I only wear one at a time, so I can hear the dc and swop them in and out of the case. I mostly listen to books and podcasts rather than music. Would that work for you, and at least there would be one charged?

I use a sleep mask with Bluetooth (which I love!) and as I often wake in the night, I can just put another podcast on and set a sleep function.

When it’s not available, I use one AirPod Pro. It lasts until morning.
