ok i have a lovely shiny new laptop, what is the best way to get across my outlook and assorted emails and contacts etc?

my back up is online - a company called mozy here - it backs up my email docs and photos automatically once a day. I suppose I could do a restore all data onto a different laptop? I've just never done it before, and my old laptop is running XP and the new one is Vista....

Hmm maybe I'll try that first. Have you ever restored back up data from one computer onto another running a different OS?! THat link you posted might be a good option if it doestn' work...

ooh but that is v helpful lapin! I think I will buy a vista easy transfer cable, that sounds like the cleanest solution

I'm just a bit unsure about doing a huge dump of data from my online back up provider - in terms of what is going to end up where etc etc. I might phone them and ask of course - but if there is any doubt that cable sounds like the solution.
