Has anyone had success getting a refund from Apple within the first six months of purchase?

In line with the Consumer Rights Act, if an item develops a fault within the first six months it is assumed to have been faulty at time of purchase.

I bought an Apple Watch which has been working fine, but in the last two weeks a full charge barely lasts six-eight hours. It used to be over 24!

I’d like to take it back for a full refund (and then re-purchase).

Legally I understand this is possible, but I am wary that Apple may not want to be (in their eyes) so generous.

Has anyone had success using the six month rule before for a refund?

Did you buy it from an Apple Store/online direct from Apple or from another retailer? As the retailer is responsible. www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/what-do-i-do-if-i-have-a-faulty-product-aTTEK2g0YuEy

I got my iPhone replaced just outside the 2 year guarantee when the NFC reader failed - inconvenient not to be able to use Apple Pay but my continuous glucose monitor for t1 diabetes also works on NFC field and not being able to get an alarm when my blood sugar drops would be disastrous. I did need to remind them of the "fit for purpose" rules though!

Yes, thankfully I got it direct from Apple!

Have tried taking the watch into an Apple Store? There’s every chance they’ll replace it on the spot.
