Transferring photos from camera

Bit specific, but does anyone know how I can stop my camera transferring all the photos rather than me being able to select which ones I want to? used to be able to do this on camera but it seems to have stopped working. If I use a card reader would this help?

Ours uploads by Photomanager and displays them so you can select or deselect.

A card reader would give you a folder-like view and you'd just drag what you needed over.

depends on the software that goes with the camera.

If you use a card reader it is just like having another drive - you just drag and drop the ones you want - and delete from the card once you have what you want.

With one of the downloading options that comes up on ours it shows thumbnails of them all and you can untick the ones you don't want, but I don't remember which one it is - it might be camera-specific.

(Not v helpful really )

Thank you all! Have tried using another download option and it does seem to give me the option to select. Hurrah!

I find it better to set the camera to "mass storage mode", then you can use the ordinary windows file management software. That way you don't need the manufacturers software and don't have to learn new software to use your camera. Also you don't need extra software if you use 2 or more different brands of camera.
