Needing to buy 2 x devices - one for an A ljlevel student the other for a GCSE student. Studying essay subjects and sciences.
Neither are gamers.
They will use these devices for doing school work (presentations/documents etc), for Googling and I suppose they will also use to watch Netflix/Disney Plus etc.
My understanding of chromebooks is that the work is all
saved to a cloud. This is where my knowledge and understanding fails me.
I know from phones that storage can get full. So in order for them to do the things I’ve said above, is 8GB RAM big enough?
For example, there is a Lenovo Ideapad 14” Chromebook. The description says RAM:8GB / Storage: 128GB eMMC. This costs £199.
Would that be sufficient? Or it would it slow if they added Netflix app? Or be to slow anyway for school work and nexome
frustrating?
For the two items I’m looking at about £450-£550 in total.
I’m also thinking maybe spend more on the one for the A level student to see them through first couple or years of medical degree (we can always upgrade the one we buy now for the current GCSE student once the time comes).
Please advise if you can. Thank you!
