How do I work out what Laptop I need?

There is so much choice out there and I have no experience of IT.

It have a HP but it must be really basic as it is terribly slow and the screen is not particularly clear, it has a glare filter permanently on it. HP 15s-eq1048na Full-HD Laptop [1Q0P1EA#ABU] I really don't like it.

I want to get something faster, equally light and with a much much clearer screen & it must be able to run Windows 11 pro (business) - what do I get?

i think as you want something equally light it’s best just to go to curry’s or John Lewis or somewhere else you can pick them up.

All windows laptop should be sold with windows 11 as standard and they should be able to install the pro version when you buy it.

I find they are much the same these days and it’s easier just to tell a vendor what you need it to do and then they suggest the laptop with the correct specs.

What’s your budget?

Currys have an amazing deal on a MS Surface Pro 9 for £899 including the keyboard cover. https://www.currys.co.uk/products/microsoft-13-surface-pro-9-and-surface-surface-pro-signature-typecover-black-bundle-intel-core-i5-256-gb-ssd-graphite-10253009.html

The laptop itself without keyboard is usually around £1200.

I have an earlier model and love it, so thin and light.

Before you replace it. Download a free copy of CC Cleaner and install it. You will be offered a downlaod of Chrome, decline that. Then run it. Does your HP have a solid state drive (SSD)? if NOT type defrag in the search box at the bottom of, select C: and sit back for an hour. You might find the PC returns to an acceptable state.

I find the people at Currys don't know very much about what they are selling and when you go in there they only have a quarter of the products to look at / find out about.

That's why I'm asking here to get a better idea

Is there anyone in your area who looks at laptops

If it has a hard drive, allyou stuff can be cloned to a new solid state drive for around £100

It sound like you have a gloss screen, they are beautiful, just make sure there is no window behind you
