Help with Norton security settings

Norton has put bloody great green ticks next to all my documents on my laptop, so when i look at my thumbnails, everything is obscured behind a big green tick. Great.

Ive googled how to get rid of them but cant find any current advice. Support is useless.

Does anyone know where I find back up settings? Apparently, it used to be next to 'My Norton' but Ive searched high and low and cant find this.

In the meantime, can you change the view of your documents?
Maybe change to larger icons or list view.

Sorry to hear that your computer is infected with the norton virus, its a very common virus as some scammy shop pretend you need it

Once on the computer, it makes it run much slower, puts up loads of notifications, breaks builtin security and even occasionally takes money from your bank account

In your situation it has also copied all your personal files to their server and they will delete them if you stop paying

Norton offer a removal tool on their site google norton virus removal tool, run it and your computer may restart to complete removal

Windows or osx will automatically turn back on its built in antivirus and firewall

Then you have to go to the my norton account online and turn off auto renewal and pobably good to delete the card, before they steal more money

Buy a once off £50 external drive to backup your files, use filehistory in windows control panel or time machin in osx

@Runner456 that's exactly what Ive done.

Its been an absolute nightmare but came with the laptop so i had no choice.

Ive got my files on a hard drive now and backed up to the cloud. It expires next month thank god and Ive removed my card details fir good measure
