Morning all

DD has just used her Christmas and birthday money to buy her very first phone (reconditioned) after years of using our hand me downs. She's very very happy with its lovely shiny newness Grin

Unfortunately we didn't check it could be used with old school plug in headphones (you know the ones you always used to get with an iPhone?) and has just discovered there's no where to plug them in (SE 2020) and is gutted!

So she's now after some wireless jobbies but even reconditioned AirPods are almost the same price as her phone.

Any reccs for good alternatives preferably in ear and similar in size and shape to the traditional apple ones?

Thanks all

Grin

You can buy a lightening to audio adapter to plug into the phone that allows you to connect wired headphones. They’re only a couple of pounds.

I love my anker soundcore p3s, DS17 who spends lots of money on headphones and earbuds bought a pair for £20 from CEX to use on the commute to school and is very happy with them. Mine were about £35 new on Amazon, there’s always a voucher or deal to reduce the price. They have an AMAZING battery life too.

Genuinely don’t understand why people buy the Apple ones, esp as they don’t stay in my ears.

You can also get an adapter to plug normal headphones into the lightning port from Amazon for about £5 too

Dd has some that were £20 on Amazon, they came up on one of the techy best value lists before Christmas. Not that dd is at all in to fashion, trends, popular stuff etc but they work, have a good battery life and she's chuffed.

I have some Earfun air pro 2 hybrid ones, and they are fine. They got a really good rating on an independent website too.

I have earfun airpro ones and they are brilliant. I originally had the basic earfun ones, they are £31at the moment, they were excellent too. I only upgraded to the airpro as a treat for myself.

We bought these for Christmas for the kids and they seem happy with them. They stay charged for quite a while.

Not airbud shaped so might be a non-starter (and they may be out of budget) but I have Jabra wireless earbuds and they are brilliant. I love them.

Put an ad on your local facebook site. Until recently they came (with the lightning end) with iphones. People give them away all the time where i am.

Thanks to everyone who replied especially regarding adapter ... got one from Argos today for £2! She's very chuffed and we'll look at the headphone suggestions for birthday!

Love MN Grin
