hi all

I'm new on here...and technologically incompetent.

I;ve just bought a new ipod 160gb which a mate has very kindly loaded up for me with about 100gb of music and stuff.

I want to be able to use the thing also to load the kids dvd's onto so that when we go on holiday (self catering always) I don't have to lug the portable and dvd's with me. I have heard it is possible to get a cable to plug the i pod into the tv so they can watch the movbies....

how easy/practical is this?

thanks

You need to get some software to convert the DVD to the right format - this is one suggestion and it's free.

This explains about the TV bit.

Free stuff is ok but a little badly written, slow, awkward to use and the outpt files are much bigger than they should really be

goto www.slysoft.com

There are two products that you need here...

1 - AnyDVD - open this tool in the background and it will remove the protection that prevents you from copying most DVD's
2 - CloneDVDMobile - this tool is very simple.. open.. select IPOD... select source (DVD).. select quality and output file name.. wait 45 mins for a 1h30m movie.. et voila a perfect file

A 1h30m movie will be around 500mb in size... you can download both bits of software on full 15 day trial to test first..

Good luck

I haven't used any of this stuff, so I would take OD's advice

the good thing is you can try it for free and buy if you like.. the other good thing is that it is very simple to use... just make sure you download the 'CloneDVD Mobile' tool. the CloneDVD tool is a different beast altogether
